Results of the PKI Reference Project
Main technical topic of media transfer AG is securing electronic business processes by PKI technologies. On the initiative of media transfer AG a project running from spring 2008 to fall 2009 was constituted under the umbrella of TeleTrusT Deutschland e.V.. The project dealt with the improvement of interfaces for PKI services. Often the introduction of PKI services is made difficult because of high implementation and integration efforts - also due to the fact that system interfaces do not support rollout and operational processes in an adequate manner or system interfaces cannot easily be integrated into modern application environments. By definition of a reference interface which supports a range of processes and which is technically state-of-the-art, efforts are reduced. Development and rollout efforts can effectively be decreased. A paper in the german professional journal KES2009/6 gives an overview of the project, it's goals and approaches as well as an example of use.
The functions from the example of use are technically described in a WSDL file. The web services are ready for being used for testing purposes.
The specification is currently available in version 0.6.
The Webservices are available for testing purposes in a simplyfied form. Authentication and authorisation based on WS-Security and authentication and authorisation of users or roles in access controlled operations (e.g. RA or revocation hotlines) are disabled.
